Taller De Las Mujeres
As part of my internship, I joined the Taller de Las Mujeres which is a social club that was started at my public health center internship to promote social and mental well-being as well as physical well-being. This took place every Tuesday from 11 AM-1:30 PM. Many of these women had very busy and stressful lives, so this was the one time a week they were able to put themselves first and forgot about the outside pressures. During this time, we talked about important preventative health services and all the health care professionals took part in these weekly sessions. This was a safe space for the women to ask any questions in regards to their health and it was also an opportunity to chat, get to know each other, and catch up. The public health center also provided knitting/crocheting materials and we were all able to work on knitting projects while enjoying each other's company. This was my favorite part of each week and it was so refreshing to see how through healthcare, we can offer holistic services. This was such a refreshing perspective on delivering health that had an impact on social, psychological, and physical well-being.

Clase de Folklore
In my neighborhood, we had a folklore group that my host mom was very involved in. I love to dance, so I felt like this was the perfect opportunity to take part in something that I love while learning about Argentinian traditions and dances. I attended peñas, which are folklore celebrations, and folklore dance practice. The folklore group also engaged in outdoor activities like hiking, so I also took apart of those activities. Through this, I was able to meet a lot of people while learning new dances!
